A prestigious law firm in Durham, North Carolina seeks a highly experienced Real Estate Commercial Transactions Attorney with 20 years of practice. This role offers the opportunity to lead high-value transactions in acquisitions, financing, leasing, and development projects while advising top-tier clients. The firm is North Carolina's largest minority-owned law firm, with practice areas including affordable housing and community economic development law, civil litigation, business, colleges and universities, employment law, commercial real estate, FHA insured financings, foreclosures, historic preservation tax credits, low-income housing tax credits, housing choice vouchers, municipal finance, municipal corporations, public housing law, nonprofit organizations, and real property tax exemptions. Key Responsibilities: Lead all aspects of complex commercial real estate transactions. Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, leases, purchase agreements, and financing documents. Provide counsel on acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, and development projects. Collaborate with clients, developers, lenders, and stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes. Conduct due diligence, title review, and risk assessments. Ensure compliance with real estate laws, regulations, and zoning requirements. Mentor and guide junior attorneys and paralegals. Qualifications: 20 years of experience in commercial real estate law. Demonstrated record of managing high-value transactions independently. Strong knowledge of real estate finance, leasing, and development. Excellent negotiation and client advisory skills. Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously with accuracy and efficiency. Education: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Certifications: Licensed to practice law in North Carolina (in good standing). Skills: Advanced contract drafting and negotiation expertise. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Deep knowledge of commercial real estate regulations and practices. Leadership and mentorship capabilities.
