Overview
Senior Accountant
will assist the Director, Investment Reporting and Special Projects with oversight of the financial and accounting functions while working closely with staff and other departments to find efficiencies and solve problems throughout the organization. This position is based in historic Annapolis
at our current offices located next to the beautiful grounds of the U.S. Naval Academy. In 2023, the staff of the Alumni Association & Foundation moved into the new Fluegel Alumni Center, which was built on the banks of College Creek overlooking the Naval Academy and downtown Annapolis. About

competitive salary , commensurate with experience, and may be eligible for an annual performance-based bonus, when applicable. We offer

Qualifications
B.S. in Accounting or Finance At least 5 years' accounting experience Knowledge and experience in non-profit accounting Knowledge of finance and budgeting concepts Familiarity with non-profit tax reporting for investments Familiarity with accounting for planned gifts CPA licensed or candidate preferred Familiarity with current accounting software systems with experience in Blackbaud products (Financial Edge NXT and CRM) is highly desirable. Strong problem solving, research, and communication skills are necessary. Strong interpersonal skills in managing people and working as part of a team to solve problems. Responsibilities
Furnishes internal reports, revises and updates reports to be more useful and efficient and furnishes external reports as necessary. Reconciles and maintains various balance sheet accounts Assists with special projects and projects to implement new systems Responsible for remaining current in financial regulations, accounting standards and best practices Responsibility for maintaining the company's system of accounting for investment transactions. Assist with the preparation and review of the monthly investment reconciliations Manages the external audit and tax preparation and compliance for the investment team Assists in the preparation of the Form 990 Assists in the preparation of the discount and allowance for pledges Assists in the preparation of the yearly reconciliation of net assets Assists in the preparation and reporting of the yearly budget To Apply
