I'm partnered with the Leadership Team on a retained Financial Controller search for a global, multi-million dollar manufacturer of industrial products near Chicago Heights, IL. The company is in growth mode right now, looking to almost double in size in the coming years. They are seeking a Financial Controller to join their team!
Reporting directly into the Group Finance Director in the global HQ, with a dotted line to the President of NA, you will have full ownership over the Accounting & Finance function for the manufacturing site in IL. There are 4 direct reports in this role who are handling the accounting/month-end close process, but you will be the lead from a finance standpoint. The management team is leaning on your financial acumen to streamline processes and drive growth within the company.
Job Description Financial Controller Responsibilities:
Manage all aspects of financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting activities.
Create and review financial statements to ensure precision and adherence to accounting principles.
Introduce cost-saving initiatives to enhance operational effectiveness and increase profitability.
Perform in-depth financial evaluations to inform high-level strategic decisions.
Supervise the finance team in executing core accounting responsibilities.
Design and implement strategies to identify and reduce financial risk exposure.
Direct the account analysis process to uncover trends and discrepancies in financial outcomes.
Generate detailed financial reports for stakeholders, offering critical insights and actionable recommendations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align financial goals with overall business objectives.

The Successful Applicant
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
CPA nice to have
Manufacturing experience required
Small to mid-sized industry experience nice to have
Blended background of accounting and finance
Management experience
Tableau experience highly preferred
Exceptional communication skills for effective collaboration with stakeholders at all levels
Familiarity with ASC 606 regulations nice to have
System implementation experience nice to have
Ability to handle multiple tasks accurately and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail, strong sense of urgency, and ownership
