Who You Are: As an Applications Engineer Senior (Level 3) you will execute the planning, development, and integration of advanced manufacturing technologies to resolve technical manufacturing problems as well as guide the development of the next generation of Manufacturing Technology engineers through day-to-day and high-level technical direction and oversight.
A Day In The Life: Assignment area includes engineering and technical support for projects ranging from manufacturing process development and improvements to manufacturing equipment and system specification, procurement, integration and support.
On any given day, you will also make an impact by:
Performing project management functions (budget and schedule management, status reporting, cost benefit analysis, etc.) for both government-funded and internally-funded Manufacturing Technology projects.
Providing technical status reporting and troubleshooting for F-35 component-specific build areas for Manufacturing Technology's technical project portfolio.

Basic Qualifications
Strong technical background with advanced knowledge of aerospace manufacturing and associated materials & processes.
Project management experience
Experience working in advanced manufacturing concepts as they relate to current and emerging aero platforms
Experience in languages such as Python, VBA, or JavaScript to create automated scripts and tools
Skills in data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI
Desired Skills
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Knowledge of coding and programming languages such as Python, Java or C++ and ability to apply concepts and coding language to script or automate tasks
Experience with Metrology solutions and devices along with analysis software programs such as Polyworks, Geomagic, etc.
Understanding of Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to connect with different applications and services
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during automation, as well as identify and fix errors in automated reports
Willingness to learn new tools, technologies, and techniques to stay up-to-date with the latest automation trends and best practices
Knowledge of data analysis and reporting techniques to identify opportunities for automation and create meaningful reports
Substantial experience working government funded development projects
Strong technical presentation skills and experience presenting to executive leadership
Broad range of technical experience and knowledge of F-35 fabrication, assembly, finishes, and inspection methods and tools
Knowledge of industry best practices for a broad range of manufacturing techniques
Creative approach to technical problem solving
Experience with Earned Value Management
Sound understanding of business and financial analysis
Experience with and/or established working relationships dealing with LM internal and external customers
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Security Clearance Statement:

Work Schedules:
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position:
4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
