Position Summary

Odyssey Systems has an exciting opportunity for a

Sr. Data Scientist,

supporting the 711th Human Performance Wing (711 HPW), headquartered at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. It is the first human-centric warfare wing to consolidate human performance research, education and consultation under a single organization. This role is fully remote. ***Contingent upon contract award*** Responsibilities

Design data modeling processes to create algorithms and predictive models and perform custom analysis and identify trends in data sets. Manipulate large clinical and operational data sets and use them to identify trends and reach meaningful conclusions based on research protocols. Clean, aggregate, process, and organize data from disparate sources and transfer it to data warehouses while verifying the integrity of the data for analysis. Utilize new techniques, innovations, and technical and scientific advancements as indicated to serve as a means of overcoming aeromedical operational issues. Draft and/or edit study protocols, proposals, scientific abstracts, manuscripts, slide presentations, and posters as required. Collaborate with professional colleagues, academic partners, medical professionals and government officials to achieve research goals. Organize review of relevant scientific literature and attend meetings, as required, with government organizations, academia, and meetings with other experts in their field. ***Contingent upon contract award*** Qualifications

Ability to Obtain NACI. Education:

Master’s Degree in Data Science or related field, with extensive coursework in computer science, data science, data analytics, data engineering, data architecture, mathematics, probability, statistics, or mathematical logic. Years of Experience:

At least 5 years of experience in their field. Experience can be substituted with a PhD in Computer Science, Computational Geometry, or Data Science. Certifications:

NA Other requirements: Demonstrated understanding of Topological Data Analysis, Machine Learning techniques and algorithms as well as common data science toolkits and proficiency in using query languages such as SQL and ORACLE. Demonstrated expert knowledge in operations research and rigorous methods of scientific inquiry and analysis to include statistical analysis, machine learning, computer science, programming, and data storytelling. Be professional, detail oriented, possess excellent communication skills, and speak English fluently. Have the ability to thrive in a team environment, yet able to complete assigned tasks independently or with minimal guidance from team leads. Possess the following: Organizational skills; the ability to achieve set goals; initiative in performing assigned tasks; ability to follow-up complex projects with influence, and integrity; and ability to interact professionally with all levels of personnel within and outside of the organization. Be willing to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) in place with their company based on the potential access to confidential, proprietary, and/or sensitive information. The NDA shall be provided to the Government Program Manager by start of performance. Preferred Qualifications Experience: Have experience presenting research at scientific meetings and published in peer reviewed journals in Computational Geometry, Topological Data Analysis or Computational Topology.
