Overview
Veterinary Technician - Part-Time Responsibilities Client & Patient Care Assist with patient admissions, discharges, and client education. Provide instructions for home care, medications, and post-surgery recovery. Support grieving pet owners with compassion and professionalism.
Medical & Clinical Tasks
Restrain animals for exams and procedures. Collect samples, perform lab tests, and take radiographs. Administer medications, anesthesia, and fluids under veterinary supervision. Assist in surgery and monitor patients during recovery.
Emergency & Critical Care
Provide CPR, oxygen therapy, and other emergency care when directed. Assist veterinarians during urgent situations.
Surgical & Laboratory Assistance
Prepare patients, equipment, and surgical areas for procedures. Maintain sterile technique and monitor anesthesia. Process lab samples and maintain diagnostic equipment.
Administrative & Inventory
Accurately update medical records. Support front-office tasks as needed. Help manage supplies and inventory.
Qualifications
Here is What You Will Bring to the Position:
Experience in anesthesia, radiology, laboratory diagnostics, and surgery assistance. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to multitask and work efficiently during part-time shifts. Compassion and dedication to high-quality animal care. Flexible scheduling availability. Shift will include Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays

Metro Paws Animal Hospital White Rock is a collaboration between three veterinary hospitals in the Dallas Metro area. Our locations are full-service, offering many additional services for dogs and cats in addition to wellness care and immunizations, boarding, dermatology, radiology, surgery, dentistry, and heartworm treatment. In 2006, Metro Paws Animal Hospital - Skillman was founded by Drs. Jennifer Lavender and Kathryn Sarpong to offer Dallas residents personalized veterinary care for their dogs and cats. To better serve our clientele, a second location Metro Paws Animal - Oak Cliff was built in July 2012. Finally, Metro Paws Animal Hospital - White Rock, which opened in January 2016. Our three locations offer general practice and holistic care approaches. We provide our teams with the tools and training necessary to feel confident in the job they do.
