Overview Healthcare Executive Placements, Inc. (HCEPInc) is seeking an Interim Quality Nurse Consultant for a W2 Contract position based in Santa Clara, CA.

Schedule:

Full time, 5 8’s Days, 8am-4:30pm

Assignment Duration:

13 Weeks with high likelihood of extending

Compensation:

Daily Rate:

This position offers a daily rate between $665 to $690 per day which equates to $3,325 to $3,450 per week (based on a 40-hour workweek).

Per Diems:

Lodging: $192 per day, Meals & Incidentals: $92 per day and Auto: $25 per day. Per diems are paid daily, 7 days a week, totaling $2,163 per week.

Total Weekly Compensation (Daily Rate based on a 40-hour work week + Per Diems):

Between $5,488 to $5,613 per week

Summary:

Coordinates quality, accreditation, regulatory and licensing (AR&L), patient safety, and risk management activities for the medical center. Provides clinical expertise, education, consultation, and coordination support across assigned areas to promote compliance with standards and improve patient outcomes.

Leverages nursing licensure and advanced clinical knowledge to deliver indirect patient care services that ensure safety, comfort, and protection of patients, while supporting disease prevention and restorative measures. Plays a key role in implementing evidence-based practices, facilitating interdisciplinary collaboration, and driving continuous performance improvement initiatives.

Must have demonstrated experience in sepsis program management and/or conducting quality reviews (such as peer review and department quality review programs) to support system-wide improvement efforts and ensure regulatory compliance.

Essential Functions

Serves as a consultant for quality, accreditation, risk, patient safety, and infection prevention initiatives.

Supports quality management studies by collecting, inputting, and analyzing data, and preparing reports.

Interprets findings and provides recommendations based on quality principles and best practices.

Coordinates project planning, facilitates group processes, and organizes training sessions; ensures effective use of information technology tools.

Reports occurrences that could result in liability exposure and follows up appropriately.

Facilitates interdisciplinary collaboration to implement evidence-based guidelines, criteria, and clinical tools to reduce practice variation and improve outcomes.

Educates physicians and staff on project goals, regulatory requirements, and compliance preparation.

Analyzes patient safety and risk management data; recommends strategies to embed risk-reduction principles into processes and credentialing activities.

Provides support to staff in implementing risk management principles and continuous improvement efforts.

Prepares and participates in special projects, including statistical reporting for state, federal, and local agencies.

Applies appropriate performance improvement methodologies (e.g., MFI, Lean DMAIC) to address opportunities for improvement.

Supports infection prevention and control activities, including recordkeeping, policy reviews, and updates.

Contributes to maintaining continuous readiness for regulatory and accreditation surveys.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in nursing, business administration, economics, health care administration, operation research, public health administration, or another related field required. Master’s degree preferred.

Minimum three (3) years of experience in quality, risk management, patient safety, infection prevention, accreditation/regulation, licensing, or operational clinical leadership in a healthcare setting.

Sepsis program management experience and/or experience with quality reviews (i.e. peer and department quality review program) required.
