Healthcare Executive Placements, Inc. (HCEPInc) is seeking an Interim Infection Prevention Consultant for a W2 Contract position based in Van Nuys, CA.
Schedule: Day shift, Monday through Friday

2+ Months Compensation & Benefits:
Compensation is between $550 - $600 daily rate, plus daily stipends (7 days/week) including $191 Lodging, and $86 Meals & Incidentals. Weekly Compensation (including stipends) is between $4,689 - $4,939. Benefits include Paid Sick Time, Paid Holiday, Co-paid Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance, Cafeteria Plan, and 401k. Summary: Seeking an experienced Interim Infection Prevention Consultant with a strong background in managing infection control protocols during hospital construction and renovation projects. This role is critical in ensuring that all construction-related activities comply with infection prevention standards and protect patient, staff, and visitor safety in accordance with CDC, ASHE, and Joint Commission guidelines. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, credentialed infection preventionist who can work closely with multidisciplinary teams including facilities, construction crews, clinical staff, and executive leadership. Essential Functions: Provide infection prevention oversight for ongoing and planned healthcare construction and renovation projects. Conduct Infection Control Risk Assessments (ICRA) and ensure mitigation strategies are implemented effectively. Collaborate with facilities management, contractors, and clinical leadership to ensure infection control requirements are integrated into project design and execution. Perform construction site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with IP standards. Educate and train staff and contractors on construction-related infection prevention protocols. Monitor air quality, water systems, dust control, and containment procedures during construction. Assist with regulatory surveys and maintain compliance with CDC, OSHA, Joint Commission, and CMS requirements. Maintain accurate documentation and reports related to infection prevention activities for construction. Act as a subject matter expert and resource for infection control best practices in construction environments. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in healthcare related field preferred. Certification in Infection Control (CIC) highly preferred. Minimum 5 years of experience in Infection Prevention in a healthcare setting. Demonstrated experience managing infection control during construction and renovation projects in hospitals. Strong knowledge of applicable regulations and guidelines (e.g., ICRA, CDC, ASHE, AIA). Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and provide leadership during complex project phases.
