Job Description Sienna Systems (”Sienna”) is looking for an experienced Cloud Engineer to work with our government client to help drive the cloud technology, implementations, and direction. You will work directly with the client management supporting engineering efforts, system designs, and implementations to guide the organization. We are looking for a candidate with strong hands-on technical background and excellent communication skills. Strong background in Azure with migration experience.

Technical Duties and Functional Responsibilities

The scope of work includes contractor support for the design, migration, and development of production systems for the existing NOAA environments. This includes support for engineering/administration, the operational environment, cloud migration, security, and configuration management. The team is lean and agile, so must be self-motivated. The primary objectives include:

Deep experience managing Azure (e.g., cloud migrations)

Active Directory experience, both via Azure & on prem

Experience with AWS

Experience managing architecture, design, and applications in a cloud environment

Experience migrating complex applications and systems to cloud environments

Work with client management to drive adoption and utilization

Work with client teams to support technical adoption and utilization

Demonstrated ability to design and support a variety of cloud platforms and services among various vendors

Demonstrated ability to integrate solutions with on-premise solutions as required in compliance with government standards, policies and configuration requirements

Proven ability to manage Azure and AWS cloud environments

Demonstrated understanding of and ability to apply all needed security controls to IMO managed cloud environment, including FedRAMP requirements and processes

Demonstrated ability to work independently

Job Requirements, Skills, and Certs

Active clearance with federal government agency (public trust or above) is REQUIRED

Bachelor’s degree, IT-related preferred, or equivalent of five (5) years of experience

4+ years of hands-on experience architecting and administering cloud projects

3+ years of hands-on experience migrating and assisting others to migrate from on premises systems to cloud environments

Cloud certification(s) – Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator Associate or similar

Must have good communications skills

Additional Information about Position and Company

Salary: up to $170,000 based on years of experience and knowledge/expertise

This is a hybrid role with at least one day per week on site in Silver Springs, MD.
