Lead the planning, implementation, and maintenance of software configuration management process across multiple development teams and product baselines. Establish and enforce version control strategies, including branching, tagging, and release practices. Maintain and evolve baseline tracking, including documenting changes, managing builds, and ensuring traceability of requirements to code and documentation. Work with development teams and Cybersecurity team to consolidate hardware and software inventories, coordinate change control boards (CCBs), and maintain accurate configuration records. Support integration of configuration management tools with issue tracking systems, build automation tools, and release management workflow. Mentor junior engineers on best practices for configuration control, source management, and build integrity. Lead and assist the team in audits and reviews to demonstrate compliance with program-level configuration management policies and standards such as CMMI, ISO, or DoD standards. Basic Qualifications: 8+ years of experience in software engineering 5+ years of experience with software configuration management Experience managing multiple concurrent software baselines in a collaborative development environment Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, Bamboo, or Azure DevOps Experience working with CM tools such as Rational ClearCase, Aras Innovator, Polarion, IBM ELM, or Jira with Assets Knowledge of version control systems such as Git, Subversion, or Perforce Knowledge of software lifecycle models and engineering documentation standards TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph Bachelor’s degree in CS, Software Engineering, or a technology field Additional Qualifications: Experience supporting defense or government programs Experience with DevSecOps practices, build automation, and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) a plus Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) and integration with HW configuration management process Knowledge of DoD CM standards such as MIL-STD-973 or MIL-HDBK-61A Knowledge of agile development Frameworks, including SAFe or Scrum, and managing CM in agile environments Clearance: Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required. Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $99,000.00 to $225,000.00 (annualized USD). Work Model If this position is listed as remote or hybrid, you’ll periodically work from a Booz Allen or client site facility. If this position is listed as onsite, you’ll work with colleagues and clients in person, as needed for the specific role.
