****We are seeking** **a** Director of Residential Property and Asset Management!**Reporting to the Director of Real Estate, and in close coordination with the Executive Staff team member who leads the Self-Help Affordable Rental Preservation (SHARP) program, the Director of Residential Property & Asset Management guides all aspects of asset and property management—including operational, financial, and administrative duties—for Self-Help’s residential portfolio, which currently includes just over 1,000 units across 12 properties in North Carolina and California. This role is responsible for leading the planning, execution, and financial oversight for routine property management and maintenance as well as capital improvement needs across Self-Help’s residential portfolio.
They work in partnership with the Real Estate Team and SHARP Executive Staff, and also with the 3Review energy and water efficiency trends regularly, and work with Self-Help’s Energy Manager and other staff to adopt practices and pursue capital projects that improve the sustainability (environmental and financial) of our portfolio.
Work with property managers and partners to ensure high-quality resident experience and strong resident retention across properties. Perform other duties as may be deemed necessary.Bachelor’s degree in related field OR equivalent related experience; a degree in Business, Real Estate, Finance, Construction Management, or Engineering preferred.4 years’ of experience in multifamily-focused asset or property management, capital improvements, or construction management experience required.Preference for experience managing properties financed by Low-Income Housing Tax Credits and other federal programs. Preference for experience with oversight of 3rd party property management firms. Administration and Management — Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, especially those typically related to multifamily real estate operations.
Comprehensive budgetary, budget control, and fiscal management knowledge.
Preference for experience with YARDI, AppFolio or other property accounting systems. Ability and willingness to work beyond normal work hours, as needed.**Compensation:** Competitive nonprofit compensation, based on experience, plus a generous benefits package. Compensation ranges for each position are based on local market rates and will be determined by geography, role, and experience.
