Overview Transit Operations Lead Supervisor. Transdev in San Diego-Chula Vista is hiring a Lead Road Supervisor. The Transit Operations Lead Supervisor coordinates and disseminates information to Road Supervisors, Coach Operators and other pertinent staff involved in helping to provide on-time service of coaches on routes. This position is based in San Diego, CA in supporting the MTS Contract.

Compensation

Competitive compensation package - range from $26.00-$29.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities

Oversees all road supervisors, (train, assist, and coach)

Delegate Projects, assignments, special projects

Maintains a good working relation with the Client

Demonstrates and promotes a “Safety First” lifestyle at the location

Conducts on-road observations of service to insure proper implementation of all operating rules and procedures. Effectively recommends re-training, discipline or retention based on on-road observations

Completes incident reports and accident reports as required and effectively recommends remedial re-training, discipline as necessary

Ensures scheduling compliance for all drivers to ensure proper route coverage. Ability to adjust schedules and assign work to achieve compliance

Ensures all Road Supervisors and operators are fit for duty always. Maintains ability to remove operator from schedule if operator does not meet fitness for duty requirements

Observes operator pre- and post-trip operating procedures. Effectively recommends discipline for non-compliance

The Lead supervisor shall be responsible for working with the Maintenance Manager and technicians with respect to handling breakdowns, and discussing operator concerns regarding the fleet. Effectively recommends re-training, discipline and non-retention regarding such operator concerns

Qualifications

Must have a high school diploma or its equivalent

Must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in the transportation industry

2-3 years supervisory experience and must be able to lead, train, supervise and motivate Transdev employees

Ability to secure a Class "B" CDL with a "P" endorsement

Must be able to pass a DOT physical and drug screen

Ability to work various hours/shifts and split off days

Considerable knowledge of and ability to use personnel computers and related software

Demonstrated ability to plan, assign, and supervise the work of subordinate employees engaged in a variety of activities

Demonstrate ability to identify and understand problems and to determine the appropriate measures it takes to solve problems

Considerable interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others

Ability to maintain a variety of complex records and to prepare reports

Excellent communication skills both written and oral

Ability to manage customer relationships, provide strong customer service skills and work in a fast-paced team environment

Proven organization skills, understanding importance of prioritizing effectively and managing multiple tasks in an environment with ever competing demands

Union experience helpful

Physical Requirements

Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time, use voice constantly, use arms, hands and fingers to enter data, use PC mouse/trackball, use telephone, view multiple video display monitors for long periods and activate/use computer programs

Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented field environment

Ability to lift and/or carry 50 lbs

Must be able to operate both Commercial and Non-Commercial vehicles
