The Associate Executive Director will oversee the daily program and operational management of Flat Rock River YMCA Camp under the guidance of the Executive Director. This leader will focus on delivering exceptional summer camp experiences while also growing and enhancing year-round programs. Working closely with the Executive Director, the Associate Executive Director will ensure operational excellence, strong staff culture, financial stewardship, and donor engagement to support the camp’s long-term success. Expected Outcomes
Increase in camper enrollment and retention. Strong staff engagement and development outcomes. Meeting or exceeding budget and fundraising goals. Progress toward long-term strategic and capital campaign priorities. Strengthened community partnerships and recognition of Flat Rock as a premier camp destination. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 6 years of experience in overnight camping or related youth development fields. Proven experience hiring, training, and managing seasonal and full-time staff. Strong leadership, mentoring, and relationship-building skills. Experience in program design, operations, and strategic planning. Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, meet deadlines, and achieve measurable results. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Proficiency in Microsoft 365; comfort with social media and virtual platforms. Commitment to the YMCA’s mission, values, and culture.
