Overview
Carpenter & Paterson, Inc. is currently hiring a full-time Warehouse Manager to work out of our North Reading, MA location. The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the warehouse and all personnel assigned to it to ensure goals and objectives are achieved. Responsibilities
Onboard and train new warehouse employees. Plans and organizes daily activities related to production and operations. Prioritize orders for processing to ensure all customer requirements are fulfilled and complete. Work closely with purchasing and sales to match incoming material with the proper work order. Ensure all inquiries are responded to in a timely manner. Assess labor needs to meet daily operation goals. Oversee maintenance of facility needs. Perform stock checks and notify supervisor of any needed materials. Inform sales immediately of any shortages, back orders, or any other problems with sales orders. Train and verify that all personnel are following established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, including continuous quality improvement objectives. Prepares bills of lading for shipments for postal or commercial conveyance; determines the most economical and efficient shipping method. Oversees receiving and unloading of incoming materials and compares information on packing slip with purchase order to verify accuracy of the shipment. Traces lost shipments and/or customer claims of lost shipments: initiates proof of delivery documents. Evaluate performance and holding employees to company standard, values, team building efforts. Works with Management and Human Resources to handle discipline when needed, up to and including termination, in accordance with company policy. Maintain a healthy and safe working environment and ensure that all warehouse personnel are working efficiently and safely. Schedule
Monday thru Friday 8:30am-5:00pm Ideal Candidate / Qualifications
Previous experience with pipe supports, pipe support take offs, and/or wastewater projects a plus High level of managerial and supervisory skills. Experience in shipping and general warehouse work, freight bills, bills of lading. Experience with order tickets, preferably with the AS400 system. Ability to liaise with all Managers and excellent communication and computer skills. Capable of stepping into any position within the department when needed. Ability to solve challenges with a certain degree of autonomy.
