Assistant Store Manager , you are passionate about providing the
best shoe store experience
for the whole family through customer engagement. You will serve as the store leader in the absence of the Store Manager and focus on developing a high-performing team, driving sales, and maintaining store standards. You are enthusiastic about shoes, product presentation, and staying up to date on trends to educate the store team and ensure a positive customer experience. What you’ll do is act as the Store Manager’s right hand, lead by example, and foster an inclusive, engaging store culture that motivates the team and delivers results. Responsibilities
Inspire the Customer Connection : foster a culture of caring and camaraderie focused on customer relationships, operational excellence, and flawless delivery of both, with coaching moments for selling behaviors behind the Customer Connection. Champion Talent Discovery : network with external talent, collaborate with the Store Manager to interview and hire individuals passionate about customer experiences and service. Ace Retail Operations & Support Staffing Levels : manage daily operations (pricing, shipping processing, inventory) and support staffing levels based on availability, peak days, and seasonal needs. Leverage Insights to Deliver Results : drive sales, apply insights to improve results, and ensure each shoe sale counts. Be a Culture Builder : promote diversity and inclusivity, maintain a positive mindset, and uplift others to improve retention and performance. Be our Store Manager’s Right Hand : when the Store Manager is away, lead with strong people leadership, ensure compliance with programs, and develop internal talent in partnership with the Store Manager. Essential Functions

Has a High School Diploma/GED. Has at least
1 year of sales
experience (retail sales preferred). Experience in interviewing, hiring, and training people. Ability to lead, manage, motivate, and communicate positively with store Associates at all levels. Ability to train, coach and develop Associates to provide an engaging customer experience and execute operational tasks. Exercises independent judgment partnering with the Store Sales Manager as needed. Demonstrates strong cognitive skills, including problem solving, decision making, and analytics. Advanced working knowledge of general retail practices and procedures. Flexible schedule availability, including holidays, nights, weekends, and extended hours. Basic computer skills. Physical Requirements and Environment
Regularly lift up to 40 lbs. from floor level to above shoulder height with proper technique. Frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting. Must be mobile on the sales floor for extended periods. 1+ year of Sales Experience required, preferably retail sales. Strong understanding of general retail practices and procedures for seamless operations. Experience as a team leader, capable of leading, motivating, and communicating with associates to achieve goals. Experience in interviewing, hiring, and training teams; identifying and nurturing talent. Mentoring and training associates on selling techniques and operational processes.
