STRATEGIC ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE - BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Job Summary The Strategic Account Executive develops and manages relationships with strategic national accounts, and large end-users as assigned to obtain specifications for CHC's product lines. This role drives revenue growth across multiple commercial product lines by ensuring that CHC’s products are specified Basis of Design by the strategic national accounts, and large end-users. CHC’s commercial products include HVAC-R, hydronic, plumbing, and FlowTherm Systems packaged products. Responsibilities
Business Development
– Build and maintain key relationships with engineers, purchasing teams, and decision-makers at national accounts and large end-users. Drive Product Specification
– Advocate for CHC mechanical equipment to be specified as the Basis of Design in construction projects. Educate and Engage Clients
– Conduct meetings and presentations to highlight product benefits and technical specifications, including coordinating joint calls with manufacturers and clients. Provide Technical Support
– Assist clients throughout the specification and bidding process, ensuring they receive the necessary guidance and expertise. Collaborate with Manufacturers
– Work closely with CHC-represented manufacturers to align product offerings with client needs and industry standards. Analyze Industry Trends
– Monitor competitor activities and market trends to identify growth opportunities. Attend Industry Events
– Represent CHC at trade shows, business meetings, and networking functions, including ASHRAE, ASPE, and vertical market segment events. Track and Report Progress
– Maintain detailed records of account activities and project progress in Salesforce. Interpret and Price Bid Documents
– Review construction bid documents to generate equipment selections and budget pricing using Salesforce. Manage Submittals
– Create and follow up on submittal packages, including responding to client comments. Support Internal Teams
– Provide technical support and strategic guidance to the Sales Department, FlowTherm, and Quotations/Submittal teams. Assist with Prior Approvals
– Support Quote Developers with writing prior approval requests as needed. Select and Prepare Equipment Documentation
– Utilize manufacturer sizing software to select equipment and prepare required client documents. Coordinate with Service Department
– Work with the Service team to address corrective actions that require engineering support. Administrative
– Identify and report new leads to the Senior Director of Business Development. Maintain CRM & Project Records
– Update Salesforce with new projects, client changes, and business activity; ensure accurate call reports and activity logs. Track Project Progress
– Provide timely updates on project activity to the Business Tracking System. Communicate Effectively
– Convey information clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing, with customers and internal teams. Collaborate on Quotations
– Assist the Quotations Department in estimating and preparing descriptions for custom-engineered product quotes. Stay Informed
– Keep up to date on new product offerings and changes to existing products. Organize Client & Project Files
– Maintain accurate and current project and client records in Salesforce. Problem-Solve Efficiently
– Approach tasks resourcefully and find innovative solutions to challenges. Technical
– Provide product specifications and develop training materials, conduct training sessions, create technical documents, and engage in industry events (ASHRAE and ASPE). Education and Experience
Required: B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical degree or suitable work experience. 5+ years of experience with engineering, account management or inside or outside sales in the hydronic, steam, Airside (HVAC-R) or commercial plumbing industry. Strong technical knowledge of HVAC-R, hydronic, steam, plumbing systems and product support. Excellent communication, relationship building, presentation, and negotiation skills. Strategic thinker that is adept at managing complex sales processes. Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders. Ability to travel as required to engage with CHC locations, manufacturers, and strategic national accounts. Preferred: Experience with Sales Force and Financial Force or similar ERP. Extensive knowledge of HVAC & R equipment and applications. Industry experience related to CHC’s represented product lines. Knowledge of regional market dynamics and customer bases. Salary Range:
