The Senior Director Enrollment Management and Strategic Initiatives serves as a member of the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) leadership team and will oversee the design, build and execution of a new, comprehensive Student Recruitment Enrollment Marketing (SREM) and enrollment management strategy for graduate/professional programs at MCW by deploying creative solutions across the approximately 19 master, professional and certificate programs to improve the quality and quantity of matriculated graduate students.
The Senior Director will work independently and strategically to lead a cultural and operational change across MCW to further increase the quantity and quality of applications, and to engage all programs under a common approach to achieve the enrollment goals of the programs and MCW. Responsibilities include the successful implementation of a data-driven approach to student recruitment, both nationally and internationally, and yield enhancement using market research and analysis, segmentation, predictive modeling and geo-market analysis. Objectives include achieving revenue generating enrollment goals, creating an office environment supportive of professional development, inclusive decision making, and diversity broadly defined.
The Senior Director will report to the Vice President of Marketing and Communications, and work collaboratively to engage graduate program leaders, departmental chairs, program staff, Deans, and the Offices of finance, Office of Institutional Advancement, and academic affairs.
The Senior Director will represent the MCW to leadership with affiliates at such as the Froedtert Health, Children’s Wisconsin, partner universities as well at national events and conferences.
Responsibilities: Provide overall vision and direction for enrollment management consistent with the University mission, enrollment goals and governing faculty policies. Develop and execute creative and strategic recommendations based on current/prior performance and industry best practices. Identify lead flow issues, diagnose problems and take appropriate actions to correct them in a timely fashion in an independent and transparent fashion. Lead digital enrollment campaigns to increase national awareness of the medical school’s graduate programs (e.g. paid search, online display, paid social media, and email marketing). Benchmark and analyze return on investment of various enrollment and recruiting initiatives by tracking source and number of resultant inquiries, visits, applications and admissions. Determine and report ROI from various lead generation efforts. Design, implement and lead innovative enrollment and recruitment strategies built on best practices and approaches from across the higher education industry resulting in increased growth of the programs and increased learner academic rigor. The implementation will entail leadership of multiple, concurrent enrollment projects and their related budgets; driving development and implementation of new and innovative recruitment strategies that attract and engage students early and often; independently leading the strategy implementation through creative program-specific strategies and approaches; and ensuring goals are achieved. Application of strategic messaging platforms, competitive positioning, unique selling proposition (USP), optimization of media (social and traditional) and partnership marketing mix and strategic design is all priority across programs. Lead the travel approach to represent the university in recruitment activities, including conducting interviews, visiting high schools, attending college fairs, facilitating off-campus information sessions and participating in on-campus programs. Build relationships with key personnel including administrators, faculty, advisors, students, and officers of pre-medical societies at colleges and universities nationwide to establish interest and create opportunities to disseminate information. Develop advisory group on recruitment (AGR), which meets regularly to review current enrollment dynamics and recommend action to the Deans. The committee is made up of the representatives with a keen interest in graduate student enrollment. Provide leadership for the Enrollment Management staff. Hire and support staff, students and others who represent the aspirations of the university as well as the diversity of the students and parents who they serve. Create an environment supportive of professional development, inclusive decision making and diversity where staff feel valued and the contributions that they make to the admission effort are valued. Manage the office of enrollment management including supervising staff and others and creating and managing an operating budget. Oversight of individual enrollment project budgets including working with the department to define targets and cost parameters and tracking the actual costs and return on investment. Lead a team to build a database with set system parameters, manage data, troubleshoot and support end users including data from: student application systems (e.g. Slate) historical enrollment data, program projections of student growth, etc. Conduct statistical analyses to understand and predict trends and adjust targets. The ability to interpret data and analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions and implement recommendations in support of goals. Analyze effectiveness of various outreach activities for each individual graduate program. Utilize predictive tools and analytics to inform and drive recruitment. From the data, determine best practices and effectiveness of the enrollment and recruitment strategies and incorporate those into new and emerging programmatic activities. Report to institutional leadership regular management updates/develop dashboard on the status of the multiple, concurrent enrollment projects and tracking progress against prior year and current year goals.

Demonstrated experience providing leadership relative to implementing, integrating, and managing enrollment management data systems required. Demonstrated experience with the development, interpretation, and implementation of predictive models preferred. Ability to meet consistent attendance.
