The
Senior Corporate Counsel
is responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of complex agreements in support of Research and Development (R&D) functions. This role ensures contracts reflect sound business terms and legal risk management, while also driving efficient transaction processes and maintaining strong cross-functional relationships across the organization. Responsibilities: Independently draft, negotiate, and review contracts including clinical trial agreements, licensing agreements, consulting agreements, vendor services, and manufacturing agreements. Serve as legal advisor for ongoing R&D contracts and collaborations. Supervise negotiations and provide guidance to junior attorneys and contract managers. Maintain and update contract templates aligned with industry standards and legal requirements. Identify, assess, and communicate operational and legal risks to internal stakeholders. Collaborate effectively with internal teams to resolve legal and business issues. Perform other legal tasks as needed in support of corporate and R&D initiatives. Qualifications: JD degree required; admitted to practice law (California preferred). BS/BA in life sciences or related field preferred; advanced life science degree a plus. 6–8+ years of legal experience, preferably in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry.
