Job Summary

Shipping &Receiving Technician accurately records all goods shipped and received. Prepare shipping documents and mailing labels and make sure that shipments are recorded correctly. In addition, verify invoices and furnish information about shipments to other departments. Performs routine accounting and record management both manually and by means of enterprise resource planning system (ERP).

Responsibilities • Obtains and reconciles weekly ERP receiving reports for review by identifying any open purchase orders that have been invoiced, requiring vendor payment. • Prepares monthly budgeted detail accruals for the Shipping &Receiving unit for submittal to the divisions' business analyst. • Maintains records of all packing slips and other related receiving documents. • Prepare and process all returns to vendor and maintains records. • Investigates packing slip/invoice discrepancy for timely processing to vendor and recommends appropriate solution. • Contacts vendor concerning received orders, deliveries, scheduled shipments, back orders, delays and other related receiving issues. • Uses the Lawson Mobile Supply Chain Management Application to receive and track goods for JHS. • Coordinate and perform decal of all capital assets purchases. Assist with the coordination of furniture moves and capital assets disposal. • Maintains records of all departmental vehicle/equipment service and repairs. Accountable as a custodian of JHS assets. • Serves as liaison between Purchasing and Accounts Payable Departments. • Prepares and assists with requisitioning of area. • Self-motivated and able to make decisions independently keeping supervisor and appropriate others informed. • Follows organization-wide and unit specific, security and infection control standards. • Participates in continuing quality improvement activities to ensure continuous improvement of service provided. • Attends appropriate orientation and training courses to maintain competency in job skills and knowledge. • Participates in required educational programs, including HIS, safety, infection control, Corporate Compliance, etc. • Participates in continued improvement of the Jackson Health System and Supply Chain Management Department. • Respects the rights, privacy and property of others at all times including the confidentiality of information, according to administrative policies and all applicable laws and regulations. • Demonstrates behaviors of service excellence and CARE values (Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Expertise). • Performs all other related job duties as assigned.

Education

High School diploma is required.

Experience

Generally, requires 0 to 3 years of related experience.

Preferred Experience

Supply chain experience strongly preferred.
