The Department of Medicine, Division of Transplant Pulmonary, is seeking an Assistant Professor of Clinical. The UMMG Faculty Physician – Transplant Pulmonology will provide medical care to patients, documenting thoroughly in medical records as per staff regulations. Responsibilities include managing patient assignments based on expertise, collaborating with transplant pulmonologists and critical care physicians, and providing care at the Miami Transplant Institute and affiliated hospitals. The role also involves contributing to undergraduate and graduate medical education. Job Functions:

Provide outpatient care for adult pre- and post-transplant patients. Provide inpatient care for adult pre- and post-transplant patients. Participate in multidisciplinary transplant conferences and rounds. Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans addressing various patient needs. Conduct respectful physical assessments. Prescribe treatments and medications. Gather essential patient information through records and interviews. Engage in continuing education to enhance expertise. Make informed intervention decisions based on current evidence and patient preferences. Maintain patient confidentiality according to regulations. Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams, including co-chairing weekly pre-transplant review meetings. Participate in quality improvement and data analysis initiatives. Adhere to institutional policies and safeguard assets. Qualifications: M.D. or D.O. from an ABIM-recognized internal medicine residency. Valid ABIM Certification in Pulmonology. Unrestricted Florida Medical License or eligibility to obtain one. Minimum one year of relevant experience; specialized transplant pulmonology training and academic experience preferred. Skills and Attributes: Strong clinical knowledge in transplant pulmonology. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Organizational and prioritization skills under pressure. Discretion in handling confidential information. Flexibility to work evenings, nights, and weekends.
