Network Architect - Switching
to lead secure data center infrastructure initiatives and ensure seamless, secure network operations.
What You'll Do:
As the subject matter expert for secure network infrastructure, you'll play a key role in designing and maintaining high-assurance switching solutions. Your focus will span cloud-based networks, complex data center technologies, and secure network operations for IL-6 and SIPRnet environments.
You'll be responsible for:
Designing, deploying, and maintaining Cisco-based switching solutions. Leading network infrastructure efforts for secure data centers. Implementing and managing IL-6 cloud-based network services and monitoring tools. Working with tools and technologies such as Cisco, F5, Palo Alto, and more. Supporting data center operations across servers, storage, virtualization, and cabling. Drafting plans, budgets, and Change Management submissions. Collaborating with vendors to define requirements, create statements of work, and secure quotes. Developing network architecture documentation, implementation procedures, and technical plans. Leading technical teams in aligning network solutions with business goals. What You'll Bring:
10 + years of hands-on experience with Cisco Technology Experience deploying and managing cloud-based network services and monitoring tools at IL-6. Strong technical background in Data Center (DC) technologies, including (but not exclusive to) servers, storage, virtualization, networking, infrastructure management, and data center facilities (power, cooling, ironwork, cabling) Hands-on experience with Cisco, F5, Palo Alto technologies Considered a Subject Matter Expert demonstrating a clear understanding of troubleshooting methodologies. Possess project management skills setting up and executing projects. Able to work with vendors, create statements of work, develop requirements and obtain quotes. Submission of plans, budgets and forecasts including Change Management submittals. Knowledge of Cloud Architecture and Air Force SIPRnet network operations. The ability to lead technical teams in investigating, analyzing, defining, tailoring, and implementing technology solutions to create greater alignment between technology and business goals. The ability to create and define network requirements for new products, including technical documentation for all relevant processes and technologies, as well as implementation plans & procedures for implementing changes. DoD 8140 compliance; Computing Environment CCNP desired. Must have Active Secret Clearance. Preferred Skills:
Proficiency with Cisco routing/switching, VOIP, and ISE. Familiarity with Visio for network architecture documentation. Experience with F5, VMware, Microsoft, Citrix, Splunk, Palo Alto, IDS/IPS, and security appliances. Understanding of Air Force IT policies and procedures.
