Job Title:

Production Planner

Overview:

Responsible for developing and executing production capacity plans based on sales forecasts, material availability, and equipment capacity.

Ensures smooth execution of the plant’s production schedule, manages inventory turnover, and supports on-time order fulfillment.

Maintains safety, operational efficiency, and compliance with company standards.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:Planning

Develop annual production plans aligned with sales-forecast demand, material supply, and equipment capacity.

Review and evaluate production schedules to ensure efficiency, smooth launches, and timely deliveries.

Track the full order lifecycle—from initial assessment to final shipment—to guarantee on-time fulfillment.

Coordinate daily exceptions and perform tasks assigned by leadership.

KPI Metrics:

Production attainment rate

On-time delivery rate

Reporting/data accuracy

Inventory Management

Break down inventory-control targets and analyze slow-moving or obsolete inventory.

Drive inventory consumption strategies across all stages to improve turnover.

KPI Metrics:

Inventory target attainment rate

Manufacturing Orders (MO)

Execute open/close work-order scheduling in compliance with cost-accounting requirements.

Ensure work-order accuracy and monitor MES reporting timeliness to support cost reduction and stable production.

KPI Metrics:

Open/close MO accuracy rate

Work-in-Progress (WIP)

Monitor daily WIP quantities and aging on the shop floor.

Accelerate product flow, minimize WIP, and reduce defect rates.

KPI Metrics:

WIP days

Safety

Actively participate in safety training and adhere to company safety management guidelines.

Promote workplace safety for personnel, property, and production.

KPI Metrics:

Safety metric attainment rate

Key Requirements & Competencies:

Strong analytical and planning skills with attention to detail.

Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and resolve production exceptions.

Knowledge of inventory management, manufacturing order execution, and MES systems.

Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Commitment to workplace safety and compliance.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field (required).

2–4 years of experience in production planning, supply chain, or manufacturing operations ().

Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and MES reporting tools.

Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and data analysis.

Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices is a plus.

APICS/CPIM certification ( but not required).

Main Authorities:

Adjust production plans to meet order-delivery requirements.

Evaluate, coordinate, and report on production execution effectiveness.

Collaborate promptly with relevant departments to address delivery needs.

Negotiate and determine handling plans for order variations.

Maintain oversight of production indicator data and related reports.
