The IT Sr Systems Engineer II position serves as a senior technical role within the IT department. It requires demonstrated experience in information technology, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively independently, as a mentor, and as part of a team. The candidate will provide technical insights driving the design, implementation, and optimization of complex systems under the guidance of a Principal Engineer or Manager. Collaborates with IT architecture to define strategy and work with various teams to implement high-quality systems to meet business requirements. Delivers and supports IT infrastructure, product and platform solutions. Designs and delivers complex IT system initiatives, including cloud, non-cloud and hybrid-cloud systems. Influences other IT teams, leadership, enterprise business partners, vendors and project/design teams in all aspects of secure and reliable hosting of applications across Exelon’s large and complex enterprise and real-time operational environments. This is a hybrid position (in-office with remote flexibility). Employees are required to be in office at least three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). Candidates must reside in IL, PA, NJ, DE, MD or Washington DC. No relocation is available. Responsibilities (Primary Duties)
Independently coordinates and leads discussions with business partners and vendors to gather information. Writes and disseminates system specifications, logical & physical architecture diagrams, and implementation plans. Delivers practical, efficient, and cost-effective solutions that satisfy business needs, including hands-on configuration, troubleshooting and optimization. Supports metrics for the same. (30%) Work closely with others to develop future plans, resource requirements, migration strategies, and project schedules. Creates and delivers presentations to Engineering, Architecture Review Boards, and business partners. Provides coaching and oversight for less experienced engineers (25%) Design, support and maintain custom system integration with other platforms, tailored to customer needs. Provide emerging technology recommendations to solve business problems. (20%) Ensure all risks and issues are identified and actioned following the required process. Provide supporting data to leadership and peers. (15%) Maintain knowledge of preferred technologies, methodologies, standards and policies. Possess advanced debugging and problem-solving skills; lead peer code reviews. (10%) Job Scope
Designing, implementing, supporting, and documenting infrastructure systems. Maintains deep knowledge of technology and its application across business areas or to customers. Leads in technological innovation to drive new business opportunities and solve complex problems with partners and vendors. Requires an advanced skill set and proficiency in the technical discipline. Conducts work of higher complexity under occasional supervision with latitude for independent judgment. Creates and contributes to a development-centric environment with coaching and engagement. May lead interns and apprentices and serve as peer coach for system engineers. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Networking, or 4-7 years of IT infrastructure design, application design, cloud computing, disaster/recovery, or 7+ years of relevant experience in lieu of degree. Experience with system administration. Ability to design and document processes & procedures. Led operational handoffs. Maintained experience with ServiceNow. Demonstrated competence with business acumen in implementing and maintaining a Configuration Database and Asset Management System. Strong problem-solving and communication skills; able to convey technical information to a wide audience (written and verbal, including senior leaders). Ability to influence across the organization and deliver work aligned with project management principles. Includes financial impact analysis and cost optimization considerations. Proficient in monitoring and troubleshooting; ability to optimize monitoring settings and enable self-healing opportunities. Scripting & Automation: PowerShell, Ansible, or other scripting tools; able to develop and troubleshoot automation and monitoring scripts. Preferred Qualifications

Annual salary varies by skills and experience: $117,600.00/Yr – $161,700.00/Yr.
