Sr RF Systems Engineer, KGS Integrated Systems Solutions
Project Kuiper is an initiative within Amazon that aims to revolutionize global connectivity through the development of a state-of-the-art Low Earth Orbit (LEO) interconnected satellite communication constellation. Our mission is to bridge the digital divide by delivering high-speed, low latency, internet services to underserved and unserved communities and remote communities around the world. The Kuiper Government Solutions (KGS) Engineering organization is a multi-disciplinary technology team established to rapidly address the needs of targeted government and international customers with specific solutions that have the potential to scale. KGS Engineering leads the development and delivery of targeted and scalable solutions for custom space and terrestrial applications. The Sr RF System engineer will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary team to design, integrate, and test innovative product solutions. The Sr RF System Engineer will work closely with colleagues throughout Project Kuiper’s inter-disciplinary team and collaborate with key partners and suppliers in order to ensure our system exceeds customer expectations. Responsibilities
Define requirements, develop interface control documents, and perform requirements derivation and allocation analysis and technical budgets. Deep-dives into component and subsystem designs to document expectations, evaluate tests, remedy test failures, and provide quick feedback to improve performance. Collaborating with diverse technical teams such as software, mechanical, modem, and compliance teams to validate expectations for system-level and network-level operations. Integrating the end-to-end RF communications system. Defining test plans and procedures for lab and RF chamber testing, based on identified requirements for subsystems and for the overall system. Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, aerospace, or similar field. 8+ years of space vehicle, bus, RF payload, or optical payload integration and test or related industry experience. 8+ years of experience developing space or communication system test requirements, plans, and procedures for system design verification and validation. Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience. High sense of ownership, urgency, and drive; resourceful, and able to deliver results with minimal direction. Excellent oral and written communication and leadership skills with strong sense of ownership and drive.
