Sr Software I&T Engineer, KGS Integrated Systems Solutions at Amazon. Project Kuiper is an initiative within Amazon that aims to revolutionize global connectivity through the development of a Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite constellation. The Kuiper Government Solutions (KGS) Engineering organization addresses the needs of targeted government and international customers with scalable, space- and terrestrial-based solutions. The Software Integration & Test (I&T) engineer will work with a cross-disciplinary team to design, integrate, and test space-based and terrestrial applications, ensuring the system exceeds customer expectations. The Software I&T Engineer will develop architecture and execute the design, build, and validation of test systems for complex systems and subsystems. Responsibilities include developing software test procedures, test software, test scripts, APIs, and automation to enable test and verification at multiple product levels, including satellite bus, RF payloads, optical payloads, ground terminals, or user terminals. The role supports integration, test, verification, and validation across these elements in a fast-paced environment. The candidate will collaborate with Kuiper Government Solutions (KGS) teams and partner organizations, and will be expected to be responsive, flexible, innovative, and effective in a collaborative, dynamic setting. Security clearance TS/SCI is required (US Citizenship). Key Responsibilities

Provide Software Integration and Test leadership for one or more of the following: satellite bus software, RF payload software, optical payloads software, custom ground terminals software, or custom user terminals software. Provide test software design expertise for the above products and services. Specify and develop end-to-end payload or sub-system integration and test plans and procedures to validate performance against requirements. Create test algorithms, test scripts, automation, and calibration routines for test systems. Analyze software test data and collaborate cross-functionally to evaluate product performance and suggest improvements. Architect, design, and validate test software for support equipment enabling test execution and verification. Prepare reports documenting test results, coverage, performance, and KPI metrics; communicate issues with developers and managers. Manage and track test anomalies, defects, and bugs; perform debugging and continuous improvement in a high-rate production environment. Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in software engineering or computer science 8+ years of software development, software test, or related experience for architecting and building software to automate hardware test systems 8+ years of experience developing test requirements, plans, and procedures for software design verification and validation 6+ years of experience coding in C, C++, Python, Docker, and Rust on Linux; familiarity with industry standards 6+ years of experience in software infrastructure design to support test case execution and automation for CI/CD 8+ years of experience in embedded software or FPGA verification (or 5+ years building complex test systems integrating test software) for aerospace/related domains Experience testing satellite communications payloads, optical payloads, spacecraft bus, subsystems, or space vehicle level Preferred Qualifications

Master’s Degree or PhD in software engineering or computer science Strong ownership, urgency, and drive; able to work with limited direction Excellent communication and leadership skills with ownership mindset Ability to coordinate between engineering, test lab, and technicians and schedule resources Experience as a technical lead for small teams of test engineers across multiple designs Experience developing and reviewing requirements for various test phases Experience with space hardware test standards (GEVS/SMC-S-016) or MIL-STD/DO-160 Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills; solid understanding of software testing fundamentals Proficiency in Python, Matlab, LabVIEW, C/C++, Docker, Rust on Linux; test automation/optimization Experience with on-orbit payload verification or satellite testing Experience with design or test of high-speed interfaces, signal integrity, and protocol compliance Experience with test equipment such as vector spectrum analyzers, vector signal generators, oscilloscopes Familiarity with calibration procedures and hardware-software integration for satellite payloads or ground systems Broad knowledge of satellite communication link budgets (RF or Optical) and space systems lifecycle Experience supporting system engineering of space and/or ground systems including cost, schedule, and performance goals Demonstrated experience working with government agencies Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.
