$40,500.00/yr - $55,000.00/yr Responsibilities
Coalition building:
Build support for campaign goals from a broad range of organizations and affected groups across the political spectrum at campus, state, and national levels. Advocacy:
Present policy ideas to decision-makers in state legislatures, Governors’ offices, Congress, corporate boards, and other forums; run lobby days for students and staff. Media Outreach:
Serve as spokesperson for campaigns through media events, press releases and opinion writing; monitor toxics issues and raise campaign visibility. Campaign strategy:
Assess opportunities to build political support through coalition-building, grassroots organizing, media coverage and messaging. Program development:
Evaluate new research, develop viable policy solutions, and propose strategy and messaging. Fundraising:
Write grant proposals, build relationships with foundations and major donors; support grassroots fundraising efforts. Staff recruitment and development:
Recruit and manage interns; participate in staff recruitment; potential to oversee staff. Qualifications
Candidates must have at least 3 years of relevant professional experience and a demonstrated commitment to citizen-based social change, with leadership experience preferred. Experience on toxics, environmental, or public health campaigns is a plus. Candidates should be goal-driven, results-oriented, with strong public speaking, writing, and analytical skills, the ability to speak persuasively in charged environments, and the drive to effect policy change. Compensation and Benefits
The target starting compensation for someone with 3-8 years of relevant experience is $40,500-55,000 in the first year.
