Controller
to lead our accounting operations and help build the strongest SFR platform in the industry. Position Overview:
The
Controller
will oversee all accounting and financial functions for a growing portfolio of multifamily and single-family rental properties. This role requires a
Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
with proven property management experience. Candidates with Property Management and Big 4 public accounting backgrounds are highly preferred. We’re looking for a leader who combines technical expertise with strong business acumen, able to elevate financial reporting and controls while driving continuous process improvements. Key Responsibilities: Oversee corporate and property accounting, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and treasury functions. Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for owners, investors, and executives. Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes. Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and regulatory requirements. Manage cash flow, reconciliations, investor distributions, and debt covenant compliance. Develop, implement, and maintain strong internal controls and financial reporting processes. Serve as primary contact for audits, tax preparation, and financial due diligence. Mentor and lead the accounting team, fostering accountability and professional growth. Evaluate and enhance accounting systems and processes (AppFolio experience preferred). Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making. Qualifications: CPA
