Mid-Level / Senior Electrical Engineer
to join our team in
Kirkland, WA
to lead and work on various Power & Renewable and Electrical Engineering projects. The work schedule could be a hybrid opportunity, but the preference will be given to local candidates. within the US or may be based in one of our Office locations throughout the US depending on applicants’ location. The Electrical Engineer reports to our Chief Electrical Engineer and is responsible for possessing a deep and broad base of knowledge of Engineering Design in Power and Industrial Projects within the US. Responsibilities
Providing electrical engineering design on power and industrial projects. Providing support on project scope and estimating. Providing input to project cost and schedule. Controlling and monitoring design budget. Performing electrical system studies and calculations such as load flow and short circuit analysis, relay coordination and programming, arc flash analysis, grounding, and lightning protection system calculations. Preparing engineering reports, tender and construction drawings, and documents. Preparing equipment specification and selection and performing technical bid evaluation and making recommendations. Preparing power distribution layouts, grounding and lightning protection system design and layouts. Developing wiring diagrams, single line and three line diagrams and schematic diagrams. Sizing and specifying electrical equipment. Developing high voltage substation physical and protection and control system design. Assisting with field construction, commissioning, and vendor factory acceptance tests. Ability to effectively interact with other disciplines on multi-disciplinary projects. Strong knowledge of NEC, ANSI and IEEE standards and recommended practices. Qualifications
Electrical Engineer Degree from a recognized university. 10-20 years of experience for senior positions. 6-9 years of experience for mid-level positions. Solid engineering design background in power, industrial and high voltage substations (AIS and GIS). Strong knowledge in applicable codes and standards (NEC, ANSI/IEEE). Leadership skills to lead projects and engineering design teams. Excellent communication skills with a focus on client management. Valid P.E. in the US or have NCEES record. Experience in equipment sizing, specification, and selection (transformers, generators, motors, HV substation equipment AIS and GIS physical layout, elevation, conductor and bus bar sizing/selection, and material selection). Experience in developing one-line diagrams, 3-line diagrams, and schematic diagrams. Experience in power system studies (load flow, short circuit, arc flash, relay coordination, grounding/lightning protection system). Familiar with power system analysis software such as ETAP, SKM, Easy Power, CDEGS. Values, Diversity & Benefits
