Fire Protection / Life Safety Systems Engineer
position focused on code-compliant asset protection and fire life safety mitigation solutions for clients in varied facilities. Location preferences include AZ, OR, TX or PA, with consideration for qualified candidates located elsewhere in the U.S. Responsibilities
Serve as engineer of record on projects, providing guidance to teammates and coordinating solutions with senior design professionals. Design fire protection systems including fire sprinklers, gaseous agents, fire detection, toxic gas detection, smoke modeling, and explosion prevention. Interface directly with client counterparts and state/local code officials. Create 3D BIM models using AutoCAD and Revit MEP in coordination with architects and engineers. Develop calculations, equipment sizes and quantities, construction specifications, and network diagrams for constructible designs in 2D and 3D platforms. Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with the ability to attain PE licensure. At least 4 years of AutoCAD design experience. Knowledge of IFC, IBC, NFPA 101 Life Safety Code and NFPA 72 Fire Alarm and Signaling Code. Knowledge of NFPA 70 (NEC) and electrical design requirements. Knowledge of NFPA 400 Hazardous Materials Code. Knowledge of Fire Alarm Systems and manufacturers’ equipment, including VESDA systems. Design experience with Fire Alarm, VESDA systems, security CCTV, HPM and Leak Detection. Knowledge of design and construction specifications. Experience estimating and scheduling mid-to-large-scale projects. Preferred / Ideal
Professional Engineering (PE) license. Experience leading projects and managing resources. Experience mentoring junior staff. Design Management experience. Design experience in semiconductor or data centers. Working knowledge of 3D BIM software (Revit). Benefits
