Join to apply for the Civil Engineer role at GHD. Our global network includes architects, designers, planners, engineers, and environmental scientists collaborating to deliver innovative projects. The role is based in California offices (Irvine, San Diego, Long Beach, Concord, Santa Rosa, Roseville, Sacramento, Fresno, San Luis Obispo, Redding, or Roseville) with a hybrid work model (in-office three days a week). Responsibilities
Engineering Solutions Design: Design engineering solutions and the validation process to meet a design brief's functionality, performance, aesthetics, and cost while conforming to standards. Engineering Standards Specification: Analyze information, draft engineering standards and specifications, and evaluate their effectiveness within the engineering discipline for the organization and its suppliers, contractors, and consultants. Product and Solution Development: Define and deliver products and services that meet customer needs within established systems. Knowledge Management System: Work within knowledge management systems to deliver preset outcomes for an area of responsibility. Personal Capability Building: Develop capabilities through assessment, development planning, training, coaching, and maintaining external professional accreditation where relevant. Engineering Observations: Inspect engineering works or existing installations to evaluate quality and specify remedial works to ensure conformance with specifications and regulatory requirements. Improvement/Innovation: Identify shortcomings in processes and implement changes through established programs. Client & Customer Management (External): Manage relationships with small clients and assist senior colleagues with larger key clients. Education
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering CA PE preferred Experience
Minimum 5 years of experience Understanding of civil site design, including site & access improvements, utility layout and design, grading and stormwater drainage General utilities: Stormwater, Sanitary Sewer, Recycled Water, Electrical Knowledge of accessibility design preferred Entitlement / land use planning and permitting processes Ability to assemble project plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E) Storm water design: Hydrology, hydraulics (closed conduit and open channel), hydromodification, stormwater quality NAVFAC experience is a plus Design-Build experience a plus Salary Range: $83,000-$138,000 based on experience GHD is an equal opportunity employer.
