Overview
GHD is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer - Part Time As Needed (PTAN) to join our Highways, Roads and Bridges team in Redding, CA. This role participates in a hybrid work model combining in-office collaboration with flexibility, requiring three in-office days per week.
Responsibilities
Needs Assessment: Engage with senior business leaders to understand long-term strategic challenges.
Improvement/Innovation: Initiate, formulate, and implement new business practices within a specific discipline while managing the development and/or delivery of a significant element of the organization7s change management program.
Culture of Innovation: Define the execution plan to disseminate innovative capabilities across the businesses, helping people develop these competencies and enabling innovation through platforms and sessions.
Engineering Solutions Design: Lead the design of complex and/or innovative engineering solutions and the validation processes for a business-critical area of engineering to enable conformance to standards.
Engineering Standards Specification: Provide leadership on the design and development of engineering standards and specifications for a business-critical area, ensuring quality and risk management in engineering programs.
Knowledge Management: Develop policies and processes for knowledge management, share project outcomes and innovative practices across a large area.
Technical Developments Recommendation: Lead discussions and recommendations for more complex or innovative technical developments to improve user-facing platforms and supporting infrastructure.
Professional Supervision: Lead and oversee professional supervision to support practitioners8s development and reflective practice.
Feasibility Studies: Conduct complex feasibility studies from technological and organizational perspectives and document findings for cost-benefit analyses.
Product and Solution Development: Manage the definition, development, and delivery of significant products or services within the program, aligning with customer requirements.
Project Management: Manage a portfolio of major projects in line with the project management strategy.
Client & Customer Management (External): Manage key client relationships to maintain satisfaction and loyalty.
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
Master's Degree preferred
Experience
Minimum 10 years experience
CA PE preferred
Compensation Salary Range: $68.75-$114.00 per hour
