The Material Metrology Division
at Nova is seeking a highly detail-oriented Senior Electrical Engineer, NPI (New Product Introduction) with experience in PCBA, cables, and embedded controllers. This role focuses on releasing electrical hardware designs for production, managing Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), and collaborating with internal and external cross-functional teams to bring new products from prototype to full-scale manufacturing. Lead the electrical release of PCBAs, cables, and embedded controllers for production. Work with contract manufacturers and PCBA vendors to ensure manufacturability and quality during the NPI process. Collaborate with design, mechanical, firmware, systems, and manufacturing teams to release complete and accurate documentation, drawings, and BOMs. Own and manage the Engineering Change Order (ECO) process, ensuring version control and proper documentation in PLM systems (e.g., Agile). Ensure Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT) principles are incorporated into all designs. Drive and support product lifecycle management from prototyping through production ramp-up. Ensure accuracy and completeness of design documentation, including schematics, layout files, assembly drawings, and specifications. Perform meticulous reviews of documents and data for release to ensure production readiness. Requirements
B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related field. 5+ years of experience in an NPI or hardware release role, preferably in semiconductor equipment or electronics manufacturing. Strong understanding of DFM/DFT principles and experience working with vendors to implement them. Proven experience in creating wiring diagrams, assembly procedures, test protocols, test procedures, and test reports for internal review and production release. Experience with PCBA, embedded systems, and controllers, including selection and integration of cables and connectors for high-voltage applications. Experience in managing ECOs and working with PLM systems such as Agile. Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Be willing and comfortable with repetitive or detail-focused tasks critical to product success.
