EOG Resources, Inc.
Overview
Primary responsibilities include the coordination of petrophysical data collection; formation evaluation and running petrophysical models; and working with multidisciplinary teams on exploration / development / production program execution and reservoir characterization. Data collection activities include planning and execution of formation evaluation programs and procedures for coring, wireline logging, data quality control, computer processing, and data management. Strengths include integration/calibration of core and wireline log data to provide volumetric determination, lithological determination, and mechanical rock properties for horizontal well targeting and 'frac' height estimation. Reservoir characterization expertise for asset valuations is desirable. Responsibilities
Coordinate petrophysical data collection and formation evaluation programs Run petrophysical models and participate in exploration / development / production program execution Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on reservoir characterization Plan and execute coring, wireline logging, data quality control, computer processing, and data management activities Integrate and calibrate core and wireline log data to support volumetric and lithological determinations and mechanical rock properties for horizontal well targeting and frac height estimation Support reservoir characterization for asset valuations Qualifications
Minimum of 5+ years of experience performing petrophysical analysis on unconventional resource plays Desired skills include formation evaluation planning; drilling well surveillance and well disposition; and completion recommendations Strong communication skills and ability to work seamlessly in multi-disciplinary teams Ability to mentor other geoscientists and team members in petrophysical methods and best practices Bachelor’s Degree in geology, physics, petroleum engineering or geological engineering Proficient in use of petrophysical software and modelling Position will be filled at a level commensurate with experience EOG Resources is an Equal Opportunity Employer, including Veterans and Disabled.
