Test Engineering Manager 2

within Ground Operations. The position leads our Air Vehicle team of approximately 16 qualified, diverse individuals in support of the MQ-4C Triton program test activities. This position will be located at NAS (Naval Air Station) Patuxent River, MD. The Triton – MQ-4C ITT (Integrated Test Team) is a US Navy & Northrop Grumman integrated test team; the selected candidate will perform data collection and technical support services on the Triton Air Vehicle ground operations and support the procurement of MQ-4C unmanned air vehicle components in direct support of life cycle sustainment. Responsibilities include interfacing with NGAS and customer Flight Test Engineers, Flight Test Conductors, Flight Crews, Ground Operations Manager/Technicians, and the Aircraft test conductor (STEs). This position will be the primary interface between the US Navy and Northrop Grumman AV ground operations, responsible engineers, network engineers, and flight test engineers. Section Manager responsibilities include working closely with the System and Flight Test Engineering Department Manager and fellow section managers to implement department and CoE initiatives, ensuring successful planning and execution of program test engineering activities, collaborating with programs to satisfy staffing needs and provide operations support (incident investigations, metrics collection and analysis, etc.), setting Talent + goals and providing regular performance feedback for approximately 16 employees, supporting the annual salary review and promotion process, mentoring and developing the next generation of technical and project leadership, and improving and implementing test engineering processes and procedures. The Section Manager duties will require 10-20% of the manager’s time. The Selected Candidate must be willing to work any shift depending on business needs: 4x10 schedule (Mon-Thurs) 1st shift; 4x10 (Mon-Thurs) 2nd shift; 3x10 schedule Fri, Sat, Sun) 2nd shift; 3x10 schedule (Fri, Sat, Sun) 1st shift. Essential Functions

Ensure all issues, tasks and workload are communicated and coordinated within the ground operations team Analyze internal and external customer requirements and determine equipment and software requirements for solutions to problems by means of automated systems Review recommendations and system enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the system including installing, upgrading/patching, monitoring, problem resolution, and configuration management Develop metrics and report status to leadership as required Coordinate the Testing of new releases of products to ensure compatibility and minimize user impact Develop and document technical processes and procedures as needed Plan and execute hardware/software modifications to the MQ-4C as required Interact, meet, discuss, and troubleshoot issues with vendors; evaluate vendor products, services, and suggestions Adhere to strict Information Systems security guidelines in all cases Report project status as required for all recurring and non-recurring efforts Work under minimal direction and independently determine and develop approach to solutions Lead an integrated team as a manager, communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, with internal and external customers, in written and oral format Work in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings across all levels. The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Primary Level Salary Range: $142,200.00 - $213,400.00. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
