Geophysicist Sr. Advisor

to join our

Alaska Exploration

team in Houston. This is a high-impact role ideal for a

proven oil finder

who thrives in technically complex environments and has a passion for unlocking new hydrocarbon potential in the North Slope of Alaska. As a Senior Geophysicist in our Alaska Exploration team, you will evaluate opportunities from frontier regions to near-field prospects, guiding business decisions with your expertise in seismic interpretation, prospect maturation, and risked volumetric analysis. You will also provide mentorship, promote collaboration, and drive innovation in subsurface evaluation and data integration.

Responsibilities

Conduct regional technical evaluations and seismic interpretations supporting exploration, appraisal and development opportunities on the North Slope of Alaska.

Generate and mature leads and prospects in shallow water depositional systems.

Apply probabilistic volumetrics and play/prospect risking methodologies.

Integrate with Commercial, RE, Planning, and HSE teams to support ongoing field appraisal and development planning efforts.

Review and present technical findings to internal leadership and stakeholders.

Ensure seismic data integrity through close collaboration with seismic processors.

Mentor staff in geophysical elements of subsurface workflows.

Qualifications & Experience

Technical Expertise:

Ability to independently interpret subsurface data and mature ideas and leads into drill-ready prospects.

Advanced seismic interpretation and amplitude analysis (AVO, inversion, etc.).

Proficiency in advanced seismic attribute analysis to maximize information from data.

Experience conducting rock physics evaluations to help derive realistic seismic interpretations.

Skilled in synthetic seismic well-ties and forward modeling to validate interpretations.

Comfortable integrating well and seismic data into QI workflows.

Experience in complementary subsurface disciplines such as Petrophysics and downhole data QC.

Qualifications:

Master’s degree or higher in Geology or Geophysics (PhD preferred in Geophysics).

Minimum of 10 years’ industry experience in exploration and subsurface disciplines.
