Working with our innovative engineering team, you will help bring medicines to the world even faster by imagining what is possible and taking action.

What You Will Achieve As an Engineering & Energy Manager, you will play a critical part in leading and supporting maintenance and reliability engineering activities involving the redesign, maintenance, and repair of utilities systems, buildings, and production/non-production equipment for the North Creek Manufacturing Facility, GMP Warehouse, and QC Laboratories. You are a versatile team member with a broad range of engineering skills including hard skills (data analysis, technical design) and soft skills (problem-solving, communication, teamwork, leadership). You will support leadership in making recommendations and delivering results in utilities management, energy management, capital budget planning and management, and long-range project development.

How You Will Achieve It Engineering Manager:

Oversee the operation, maintenance, and reliability of electrical systems. May also include other utilities systems including HVAC, steam, compressed air, and water systems.

Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (GMP, environmental regulations, safety standards).

Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to optimize performance and minimize downtime.

Lead the design and installation of electrical systems including low, medium, and high voltage infrastructure.

Develop and optimize operation and maintenance procedures for electrical infrastructure.

Supervise operation and maintenance of electrical distribution networks (transformers, switches, circuit breakers, contactors, and control instrumentation).

Manage vendors and consultants to ensure contracts contain appropriate technical specifications and are delivered as required.

Define electrical systems and controls to meet plant objectives and plan projects on schedule and within budget.

Act as electrical engineering duty holder for site and maintain responsibility for all electrical ES requirement implementation.

Energy Manager:

Serve as SME and primary contact for site ISO 50001 program requirements, including development, design, or construction of energy conservation projects.

Monitor energy systems (motive power, thermal energy, HVAC, etc.) to determine energy usage and opportunities for efficiency improvements.

Identify energy saving opportunities and recommend operational changes or projects site-wide.

Prepare and present project reports and technical documentation.

Develop presentations for proposals of alternative energy systems up to site leadership.

Serve as primary contact for energy-related construction design information and drawings.

Provide oversight for energy certifications and training on energy management and alternative energy sources.

Follow all safety and environmental requirements in the performance of duties.

Continue to monitor and manage energy assessments and continue to improve energy efficiency within manufacturing operations.

Qualifications Must-Have

Applicant must have a bachelor’s degree with at least 4 years of experience; OR a master’s degree with at least 2 years of experience; OR a PhD with 0+ years of experience; OR an associate’s degree with 8 years of experience; OR a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 10 years of relevant experience.

Nice-to-Have

Professional Engineering license is strongly preferred (or actively working towards).

Understanding of utility systems used to support biopharmaceutical manufacturing operations (e.g., purified water, clean steam, clean gas, compressors, boilers, chillers, cooling towers, electrical distribution, clean room air handlers, building automation systems).

Project experience in electrical design, construction, and start-up of large GMP utility systems.

Ability to manage projects to completion on time and within budget.

Strong technical understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and electrical engineering practices, codes, and standards.

Ability to interact well with peers, subordinates, and senior personnel in scientific, engineering, and operational disciplines.

Demonstrated ability to participate on cross-functional and self-directed teams.

Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.

Knowledge of VFDs, DC/AC infrastructure, and high voltage experience.

Strong background in NFPA 70 and NFPA 70E.

Knowledge of alternative energy and/or symbiotic system integration improving energy use.

Knowledge of energy assessments in a manufacturing environment.

Physical/Mental Requirements

Lifting, sitting, standing, walking, and bending.

Non-Standard Work Schedule, Travel or Environment Requirements

Ability to work weekends, travel, and work in aseptic areas (gowning requirements).

Relocation support available. Work Location Assignment: On Premise.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $112,700 to $187,800. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 15% of the base salary and eligibility for our long-term incentive program. Benefits include 401(k) with Pfizer matching, retirement contributions, paid vacation/holiday/personal days, caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits.
