Position Summary The Field Engineer, under direct supervision, assists in all aspects of project management including, estimating, coordination of cost control, scheduling, reporting and document control activities. Assists in supporting positive client relationships.
Responsibilities
Identify basic safety issues onsite and notify the superintendent of infractions. May need to assist in corrective action as needed.
Assist Superintendent in maintaining Daily Reports and other necessary logs for progress reporting.
Assist superintendent in managing weekly manpower and manage electronic payroll input.
Review contract documents, drawings and specifications.
Assist superintendent with reviewing and enforcing subcontractor scope documents.
Assist superintendent with managing conflict resolution between different trades.
Review issues with design team, as directed by Superintendent.
Assist Superintendent in ensuring high-quality installation in the field.
Maintain a higher level of computer skills.
Able to write email communications and letters.
Store files both on the computer and on remote locations.
Create basic Word and Excel documents, including the use of company templates/letterheads to produce documents for distribution both internally and externally.
Utilize drawing markup software (e.g., Bluebeam, Goodreader, SketchUp, etc.).
Use the Company\'s project management software, Procore, for tracking information.
Proficiently manage BIM software when used on project.
Create short-term (3-week) look-ahead schedules.
Identify safety issues onsite and direct field forces on how to correct issues.
Perform a safety audit on your own project.
Ensure that jobsite record/as-built drawings are maintained and updated regularly.
Assist Superintendent in holding subcontractor meetings and creating/distributing minutes to reflect discussed items for record.
Create and process submittals, RFIs and other standard forms of documentation.
Support Superintendent with quality assurance/control in the field.
Review scopes created by Project Manager to ensure proper work is being installed by a subcontractor.
Able to maintain a high level of client satisfaction with all aspects of the project to encourage repeat work.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering and a minimum of 1 year of experience or equivalent. General knowledge of construction principles preferred. Strong problem-solving and communication skills. Must be adaptable, a self-starter and results oriented.
