Senior Process Engineer

The Shaw Group The Process Engineer performs process engineering activities for multiple projects. This includes preparing process documents and working on different stages of a project from Pre-FEED, FEED, EPC detailed engineering to project completion/construction phase. They interact and collaborate with clients, vendors, fabrication, and other engineering disciplines to be able to complete tasks and resolve issues. They complete projects in the safest, efficient, and cost-effective manner. The Process Engineer will lead their own projects as well as support other process engineers on the team and will be responsible for coaching and training other less experienced team members. Summary The Process Engineer role involves: Supporting the project(s) from conceptual design through construction Building the simulation for the project in HYSYS Developing all process engineering documents from BOD, PFD, P&IDs, DP/DT, H& MB, equipment & instrument datasheets, Process Control philosophy, Cause and Effect diagrams and Operating Manuals Sizing piping, equipment and instrument datasheets including PSV & instrument datasheets with process input Conducting P&ID reviews with clients and internal disciplines Participating in and resolving HAZOP action items Checking and ensuring all process deliverable are as per project scope and per codes/standards Communicating with Project Managers, other engineering disciplines and other stakeholders to keep track of tasks, deliverable, and schedule Providing technical support as part of a team working on various engineering projects Providing process specifications for equipment Providing technical and design support of process equipment and mechanical systems Maintaining a process utility spreadsheet and process design narrative to support other project disciplines Performing process safety work and interacting with the process safety team to ensure business objectives are met Supporting quotation of machinery or equipment required for the production process Training and assisting process and other process engineers Completing process engineering work to meet client requirements and specifications Reporting and documenting process issues and equipment malfunctions Developing process design criteria for new projects Developing schedules, manhour estimates, and scope of work for proposals Reviewing and checking junior process engineer work for accuracy and completeness Leading and organizing training for process team Developing and maintaining process team tools and procedures Education And Experience 10-15 years of related experience working with an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction company 3+ years of field experience required (operations, startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, etc.) Chemical Engineering (bachelor’s degree) or equivalent Experience with Ammonia Professional Engineer License HYSYS (Advanced) ASPEN simulation (Advanced) Microsoft Office Suite (Intermediate) Instrumentation (Advanced) Bluebeam (Advanced) InEight Document (Advanced) Navisworks (Advanced) COMOS (Advanced) HTRI - Heat Transfer Research Inc.
