We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a proactive obsolescence management engineer. This role involves coordinating a comprehensive effort to safeguard the future of our aircraft systems by using a cross-functional approach with design engineering, supply chain, program management, and the obsolescence core team to monitor end-of-life notifications, component obsolescence, and supply chain disruptions. A background in electrical or systems engineering with experience in technical planning, systems integration, and avionics or electrical system design is preferred. Responsibilities
Coordinate obsolescence management efforts to safeguard aircraft system long-term supportability. Collaborate with design engineering, supply chain, program management, and the obsolescence core team. Monitor end-of-life notifications, component obsolescence, and supply chain disruptions; develop mitigation strategies. Apply a cross-functional approach to system integration across mechanical, electrical, and software interfaces. Leverage technical planning and systems integration experience to mitigate risk and optimize system performance. Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Systems Engineering. Minimum of 5 years of experience in Electrical, Systems Engineering or Avionics. Knowledge in Electrical Engineering or Components Engineering with emphasis on Mission Systems Integration. Hands-on and/or theoretical knowledge of electronic and avionic hardware, including components and manufacturing processes. Familiarity with electronic components (e.g., microprocessors, memory devices, interface circuits). Knowledge of electrical systems, including power distribution, signal processing, and communication protocols. Familiarity with military and aerospace systems (avionics, radar, communications). Understanding of system integration across mechanical, electrical, and software interfaces. Technical writing skills; proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). Desirable Skills
Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills. Ability to work independently with limited supervision. Experience in Systems Engineering disciplines across the full lifecycle (architecture, requirements, design, analysis, integration, verification, production, sustainment) with competencies in Supplier Interface, Proposal Analysis, Risk and Opportunity Assessment. Understanding of Standard Work processes and tools; experience with relational databases. EEO and Other Information
