Employment Type: Full-time

Work Schedule: Hybrid - 3 days in-office, 2 days remote

Salary Range: $97,760-$126,880, based on experience

Career Level: Mid-level

Location: Long Beach, CA or Irvine, CA

General Responsibilities

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will independently prepare, plan, and execute small to medium-sized healthcare projects with general supervision. You\'ll apply standard design techniques, perform engineering calculations, and contribute to construction documentation and administration.

Pre-Design Engineering

Review existing as-built drawings

Conduct field investigations

Set up drawings and models for multiple disciplines

Coordinate design schedules and deliverables

Perform feasibility studies

Prepare schematic designs

Design Engineering

Perform energy calculations using EnergyPro or IES VE

Develop single-line diagrams and load schedules

Design lighting systems and controls

Engineer normal, emergency, and renewable power systems

Conduct Arc Flash, Short Circuit, and Coordination Power System Studies

Experience with low-voltage building systems (Fire Alarm, Security, Voice/Data, Nurse Call) is a plus

Design Complexity

Perform routine engineering work using standard techniques

Conduct basic engineering calculations

Prepare construction estimates and specifications for small projects

Independently develop small reports and peer review small projects

Construction Administration

Review submittals and respond to RFIs

Produce meeting reports and punch lists

Participate in construction meetings and provide clarifications

Education & Certification

Bachelor\'s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field

Engineer-In-Training (EIT) Certification preferred

LEED Accreditation is a plus

Experience Required

2-7 years of engineering design experience post-graduation or equivalent professional experience

Prior experience working on healthcare/hospital buildings preferred

Working Knowledge

Microsoft Office Suite

AutoCAD

Revit (a plus)

California Building Code (a plus)

National Electrical Code (a plus)

HCAI experience (a plus)

Net Zero Energy/Carbon design (a plus)

LI-Hybrid
