The Impact You Will Have In This Role Being a member of IT Strategy team, the Director of Systems Engineering will lead multiple agile software engineering teams passionate about building scalable, secure, and resilient cloud-based middleware capabilities or shared services. Your Primary Responsibilities Leadership & Strategy

Lead and mentor engineering managers and senior engineers across multiple product lines. Define and implement cloud-first and middleware-integrated technology roadmaps in collaboration with Architecture, Infrastructure, and Product teams. Promote a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement. Cloud & Middleware Engineering Drive the design and development of cloud-native applications using AWS, Azure, or GCP. Lead all aspects of migration of legacy systems to cloud platforms, ensuring scalability, resilience, and security. Lead integration efforts using middleware technologies such as Kafka, MQ, FIX, SWIFT, API gateways, and service meshes. Ensure robust messaging, event-driven architecture, and data streaming capabilities across platforms. Technical Excellence Champion engineering standard methodologies including DevSecOps, microservices architecture, and API-first design. Automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) based delivery Ensure systems meet performance, compliance, and regulatory standards. Evaluate new technologies and guide adoption to improve DTCC’s technology stack. Stakeholder Engagement Partner with business and technology leaders to translate strategic objectives into actionable engineering plans. Communicate effectively with senior leadership on progress, risks, and opportunities. Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Proven 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with 5+ years in a leadership role. Talents Needed For Success

Proven experience designing and delivering cloud-native applications on a large scale. Deep expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation). Strong experience with middleware technologies such as Apache Kafka, IBM MQ, FIX, SWIFT, or similar. Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and enterprise software development. Excellent communication, teamwork, and leadership skills. Experience in financial services or regulated industries. Familiarity with cloud security, data governance, and compliance frameworks. Knowledge of observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog) and API management platforms. We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
