Overview
Position Title:
Site Reliability Engineer, Interconnection Service and Network Delivery Location:
Hybrid: Austin, Dallas, Boston, Ashburn, Atlanta, London, or Amsterdam You will be responsible for deploying and maintaining all Digital Realty interconnection fabric network infrastructure. The role blends network engineering, network operations, and software understanding, applying engineering principles. You will deliver operational discipline and embrace automation, agile development, and scripting.
Your role
In this role, you will deploy and maintain Digital Realty interconnection fabric network infrastructure and contribute to a global network infrastructure. You will work with carrier-class network infrastructure experience and thrive in a fast-paced development environment.
What You’ll Do
You will be part of the global Fabric Engineering organization and collaborate with other teams to build and maintain a global network infrastructure.
What You’ll Need
5+ years of operations and engineering experience Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent) preferred Strong experience with automation tools (Ansible, Terraform, etc) Strong experience with Linux systems and tools Experience with Python (or equivalent high-level language) Experience with software development tools (GitHub, Jenkins, etc) and software development practices Experience with hyperscale cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, Oracle Cloud, IBM Cloud is an advantage Experience configuring monitoring, responding to alerts, and addressing root causes to eliminate toil Must participate in a 24x7x365 on-call rotation Familiarity with Layer 3 routing protocols (BGP, IS-IS, OSPF), MPLS, and Layer 2 switching protocols (802.1Q VLAN tagging, Spanning Tree) Familiarity with virtual networking concepts such as L2VPN, EVPN, Open vSwitch, and VXLAN preferred Ability to understand high-level network design and its impacts across the infrastructure Ability to work independently on complex, unique service provider engineering projects Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills Strong communication skills
