This is a hybrid leadership and technical role (50% management, 50% hands-on design) emphasizing innovation, precision, and cross-functional collaboration. Lead and mentor a team of engineers, driving mechanical and electro-mechanical product designs from concept through production Create detailed 3D CAD models and 2D manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks for complex assemblies Ensure designs meet ISO/ANSI standards, are manufacturable, and include complete tolerance schemes in SI units Collaborate with Manufacturing, Procurement, and Quality teams to develop production-ready solutions Oversee engineering documentation control, revision history, and part numbering for lifecycle management Apply knowledge in sheet metal design, electronic packaging, mechanisms, materials, and automation systems Design and review electrical schematics, interconnect diagrams, and wire harnesses Conduct and evaluate FEA simulations to validate structural integrity Lead DFMEA/FMEA sessions to identify and mitigate risks Develop custom test equipment and validation tools Generate and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs) Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related engineering field 10+ years of engineering experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership/managerial role Mastery of SolidWorks (3D modeling, simulation, drawing standards, data management) Extensive knowledge of mechanical and electrical design, with hands-on manufacturing experience Expertise in tolerance analysis, DFM, and value engineering Strong project management skills; ability to lead multidisciplinary teams from design to production Familiarity with ERP/MRP and part lifecycle management Strong communication and leadership abilities for cross-functional coordination Preferred Qualifications
Automation and robotics integration in hardware systems Experience with design verification, product certification, or regulatory compliance Familiarity with Agile or iterative product development methodologies Benefits
