Overview
Mid-Level Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer – 6 Month Contract. Our client, a leader in the healthcare industry, is seeking a Mid-Level QA Engineer for a 6 month contract in North Miami, FL. This hybrid role requires working onsite Monday-Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with Fridays remote. The QA Engineer will help maintain and improve product quality by identifying, documenting, and resolving defects through application testing, system support, and test automation. You’ll design and implement test cases, troubleshoot application issues, and ensure product requirements are met in close collaboration with developers, product owners, and technical teams.
Responsibilities
Create, execute, and manage test plans/test cases across multiple QA areas: functional, regression, API, smoke, exploratory, usability, and performance testing.
Perform both black box and white box testing.
Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using JavaScript, Playwright, and ReadyAPI.
Collaborate with developers and technical teams to identify, diagnose, and resolve application issues.
Define regression suites and suggest automation opportunities.
Participate in Agile ceremonies as a core Scrum team member.
Analyze requirements (user stories, acceptance criteria) and translate them into test cases/scripts.
Provide clear communication on quality issues, risks, and timelines to stakeholders.
Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes and testing practices.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Hands-on experience with JavaScript, Playwright, and ReadyAPI.
Strong understanding of QA methodologies, testing types, and best practices.
Ability to write, debug, and optimize automated tests.
Familiarity with SQL and ability to validate backend data.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate and identify issues.
Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
Team player with the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
3-5 years of QA/testing experience, including manual and automated testing.
Proven experience in API testing, integration testing, and test automation.
Healthcare industry experience strongly preferred.
