The MCF (Mission Critical Facilities) Senior Project Engineer, Electrical guides the electrical technical design of data center projects as subject matter expert, mentor, and resource to the technical team. Position delegates, leads, and directs work of Project Engineers and Designers. The role conceptualizes, executes, and ensures quality throughout the design process to meet clients’ needs and expectations. The Senior Project Engineer will also have Supervisor and Mentor responsibilities for junior staff and be a resource to other project engineers. Aside from the preferred locations listed, this position is open to any location with a Stantec office presence, for the right candidate. Responsibilities

Assist the business development team in new project pursuits by providing input on RFPs/RFQs and participates in project interviews and presentations. Manage technical project process and scope of work within own discipline; review and track scope, schedule, and budgeted hours; find and resolve inconsistencies with the project manager. Delegate tasks to project engineers and designers within own discipline as appropriate. Follow quality management process; conduct project reviews and approvals before all QA/QC reviews done by the technical authority. Build and maintain strong client relations; understand and articulate project and design requirements, progress, challenges, and troubleshooting to clients and technical staff. Lead technical discussions and mechanical workgroups with project stakeholders as their trusted advisor, identify key requirements, and adapt design accordingly to meet the project objectives. Coordinate with all disciplines to fully integrate work and client requests into design. Act as supervisor and resource to technical design team; support and assist staff education, training, and development. Participate in the data center engineering/professional community to stay up-to-date with new requirements and technologies; attend meetings, seminars, conferences, or write articles for trade magazines. Identify opportunities to improve and standardize project deliverables across Stantec MCF centers. Contribute to development of design guides, technical memos, calculation templates, and other design guidance for data center projects. Qualifications

Extensive experience in mission critical/data center design concepts. Experience on large-scale projects with varied stakeholders. Comprehensive knowledge of engineering practices, concepts, principles, codes, and standards in own discipline; basic knowledge of other disciplines. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to conceptualize solutions for multifaceted systems. Strong communication skills; ability to convey scope, schedule, and budget to clients and teams. Proficient in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals. Proficient in software such as Autodesk, BIM 360, Revit, MS Excel; working knowledge of power systems software (e.g., SKM) and power cable ampacity tools (e.g., CYME CYMCAP) preferred. Knowledge of construction processes and interaction with design; able to analyze, problem-solve, and train others; organized and detail-oriented; collaborative. Able to independently resolve complex problems within the engineer’s discipline. Education and Experience

Accredited engineering degree or equivalent experience required. Minimum 7 years of related industry experience preferred. Mission critical/data center experience required. Registered professional engineer (PE) license or other professional certification relevant to expertise required. Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: Locations in MN, VT, and various CA, NY areas – Min Salary $102,100.00 – Max Salary $153,200.00; Locations in CO, HI, IL, MD and various CA, NJ areas – Min Salary $112,300.00 – Max Salary $168,500.00. Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Final compensation depends on education, qualifications, experience, and work location. Some roles may be bonus eligible.
