OVERVIEW:
The Facilities Driver is responsible for the cleanliness and mechanical operations of the Corps and Corps vehicles.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Inspect all rooms daily for cleanliness and condition
Maintain all equipment in working order; report and repair damage as needed
Set up and break down rooms as required
Ensure chapel and restrooms are cleaned by Friday close of business
Maintain orderly, safe, and secure storage closets and containers
Move, repair, and dispose of equipment and supplies as directed
Report safety and security issues directly to Corps Officers
Review and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment; consult supervisor before major repairs
Perform minor repairs and notify Corps Officers of serious issues
Repair irrigation units and trim trees every six months
Manicure bushes quarterly
Follow drought and rainy-day procedures set by county/state
Provide transportation as directed by supervisor
Coordinate transportation requests from program assistants and Corps Officers
Ensure Corps vehicles are clean, fueled (Monday, Wednesday, Friday), and in good condition
Execute minor vehicle repairs and report major issues
Drive toy barrels to locations during Christmas Kettle Program
Pick up donations from Food Bank and community donor stores
Deliver donations to nearby Corps as needed
Maintain a clean, inspection-ready kitchen
Inspect refrigerators regularly for cleanliness and freshness
Serve meals when requested by Corps Officers
Help prepare the emergency canteen for county service
Maintain kettle equipment during the Christmas Kettle Program
Administrative & Other Duties
Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings
Other related duties as required
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Driver’s License (required)
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Basic janitorial and maintenance skills
Ability to be organized and efficient
Great time-management
Ability to work as a team or independently
EQUIPMENT USED:
Modern Office Equipment and Relevant Software
Specialty vehicles, tools, or anything that needs a cert/license to operate
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. (usually file boxes)
Ability to use maintenance and landscaping equipment
