Professional Consulting Veterinarian (PCV)

in Cincinnati, OH , you’ll have a career that blends clinical expertise with your passion for educating, public speaking, attending industry events, and collaborating on high-performing teams. You will represent Hill’s as a trusted scientific leader and make a lasting impact on pets, pet owners, and the veterinary profession. Responsibilities: Promote active recommendation and endorsement of Hill’s products. Call on specialty hospital customers with appropriate frequency based on tier. Build influential partnerships with Key Thought Leaders and specialty hospital teams. Deliver impactful educational presentations at veterinary practices, conferences, and group events, engaging audiences and growing Hill’s reputation as a trusted, innovative partner. Deliver the technical education of Hill’s Market Area sales teams through training and field coaching, fostering foundational nutrition knowledge and Hill's product expertise. Mentor and support Territory Managers and other team members, developing their skills and strengthening the organization’s success. Collaborate within your Market Area to plan, organize, and execute educational and advocacy initiatives that support Hill’s business growth. Represent Hill’s at conferences, meetings, and customer events—expanding your network and championing best-in-class nutrition. Actively participate in and contribute to cross-functional project teams, collaborating with marketing, sales, and scientific peers to shape strategies and achieve business goals. Enhance the reach and effectiveness of education using digital tools and platforms. Required Qualifications: DVM/VMD (or equivalent) 4+ years of clinical practice experience. Current, active veterinary license in at least one U.S. state. Valid driver’s license with no moving violations. Able to travel overnight 2–3 nights per week on average (varies weekly). Able to independently manage a demanding, flexible schedule. Strong work ethic, growth mindset, and polished professional presence. Preferred Qualifications: Animal health industry or sales experience, business/leadership skills, willingness to relocate for advancement. Compensation and Benefits Salary Range $110,000.00 - $145,000.00 USD Pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Salaried employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing, and long-term incentives for Executive-level roles. Benefits: Salaried employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, paid parental leave, disability coverage, and participation in the 401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements. Additional benefits include a minimum of 15 vacation/PTO days (hourly employees receive a minimum of 120 hours) and 13 paid holidays (vacation days are prorated based on the employee's hire date within the calendar year). Paid sick leave is adjusted based on role and location in accordance with local laws.
