At Gexcon US, we’re seeking experienced Senior Fire and Explosion Risk Consultants to join our Houston team. You will be based in the Houston, TX Metro Area (on-site/in-office) and take the lead on complex risk and safety projects across the offshore, petrochemical, processing, and civil contingency sectors. Gexcon US Inc. is a leading global engineering and consulting firm and a subsidiary of Gexcon AS (headquartered in Bergen, Norway) with US offices near Washington, DC, and in Houston, Texas. Gexcon US provides Risk and Safety Studies using a variety of tools including the industry-leading CFD software FLACS, as well as Accident Investigation, Failure Analysis and Prevention, R&D and Experimental Testing and Software Sales and Support. Essential Required Skills

To be successful in this role, you must have the following attributes: Authorization to work in the US without sponsorship Degree (M.S. preferred) in Chemical (or Mechanical) Engineering. Excellent verbal, written communication, and computer skills. Initiative – the ability to manage and control own workloads. Must be detail-oriented, highly organized, and a self-starter Must be able to work under critical time deadlines and to re-evaluate priorities while exercising discretion, diplomacy, and good judgment Ability to take ownership of projects and multi-task Flexible to carry out assignments anywhere in the US and abroad. Knowledge of the process and oil and gas industry is a key advantage. Must be based in the Houston metro area, or willing to relocate on own initiative What the Role Involves

Major job responsibilities will include: Leading/Facilitating Process Hazard Analyses and Hazard & Operability Studies (HAZOPs). Interpretation of results and generation of reports Project based engineering support to existing clients in the offshore, petrochemical, processing and civil contingency sectors. Will be expected to gain familiarity with dispersion and fire/explosion modeling using the FLACS CFD software [it is expected that candidates would already be familiar with phenomenological models] Assist with varied work including Quantitative Risk Assessments Perform state of the art analysis Write technical reports Willing to travel to customer meetings both within the US and internationally Verbally interact and present to clients Support Gexcon US marketing and business development efforts What You Will Get
