Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented
Project Financial Manager
to lead financial oversight and reporting across our portfolio of government contracts. This pivotal role requires an expert-level command of
Deltek Costpoint
and a strong understanding of the regulatory framework governing federal contracts. You’ll guide project teams to financial excellence, ensure compliance, and drive decision-making through data.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Oversight:
Manage project budgets, forecasts, and actuals across diverse contract types (T&M, CPFF, FFP)
Deltek Costpoint Leadership:
Configure and maintain Costpoint project structures, cost pools, billing setups, and revenue recognition
EAC & Variance Analysis:
Lead Estimate at Completion (EAC) reviews and variance analyses; identify risks and opportunities for executive stakeholders
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure adherence to FAR, DFARS, CAS, and DCAA guidelines; support audits and data calls
Reporting & Dashboards:
Design and deliver real-time financial reports and visual dashboards tailored to leadership needs
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Serve as finance liaison to Program Managers, Contracts, Subcontracts, and Accounting
Team Mentorship:
Supervise and mentor junior analysts and serve as a resource for Costpoint financial best practices
Qualifications
Bachelor’s in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field (Master’s or MBA a plus)
7+ years of experience in project accounting or financial management within government contracting
Extensive hands-on experience with Deltek Costpoint
is a must
Deep understanding of federal contracting compliance and cost principles
Excellent Excel and financial modeling skills
Strong communication, analytical, and leadership capabilities
Preferred
CPA, CMA, or PMP certification
Experience with tools like Cognos, Tableau, or Power BI
Exposure to Unanet, JAMIS, or other ERP/reporting systems
