Job Overview – Tax Manager (Family Office): Compensation: $180,000 – $210,000/year + bonus. Location: New York, NY. Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid). Atlantic Group is hiring a Tax Manager (Family Office) with our client in New York, NY. This hybrid role manages tax planning, compliance, and reporting for high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals, families, trusts, partnerships, and corporations. You will coordinate with external tax firms and internal teams to ensure regulatory compliance, while leading tax strategy, audits, filings, and providing guidance on investments, charitable giving, and real estate. Responsibilities
Tax Planning & Projections:
Lead quarterly tax projections, oversee payment filings, and implement planning strategies. Compliance Oversight:
Manage preparation and review of complex returns for individuals, trusts, partnerships, and corporations, summarizing findings for Principals and family members. External Coordination:
Collaborate with external tax firms on workflows, filings, audits, and issue resolution. Document & Audit Management:
Oversee tax documentation, maintain compliance with reporting requirements, and respond to inquiries from tax authorities. Real Estate & Investments:
Track investment tax basis, monitor cost basis reporting, and ensure Qualified Opportunity Fund (QOF) compliance. Leadership & Collaboration:
Mentor junior staff and partner with internal teams, including Legal and Strategic Accounting. Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required. Certification:
CPA strongly preferred. Experience:
8+ years of family office tax experience, preferably with high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients in public accounting or a family office. Technical Skills:
Strong proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office required, with experience in Sage Intacct preferred. Industry Knowledge:
In-depth understanding of partnership taxation, trust taxation, and related reporting requirements. Skills & Attributes:
